Alice is in the 3rd year of her PhD at Essex University on ‘Public Perceptions and Personal Experiences of Only Children, c. 1850-1950’ and aims tobust the old stereotypes about ‘selfish, smug’ only children’. She blogs weekly on the progress of her research and being a postgraduate student at her blog Alice in Academia and tweets at @alicetheunique.
